PA Spotlights

Kelly Rush and her family joined the SSFS community in 2016. Kelly says, "We fell in love with many things about SSFS– the outdoor space, hands-on learning, warm teachers, Quaker values, small class sizes and attention to Social-Emotional learning. He’s now in Middle School and many of the things we loved about SSFS when he was four are still things we love for him... The core SSFS values and foundations are important and invaluable across grades.  "

Ivy Debrah and her family joined the SSFS community in 2021, drawn by its deep-rooted Quaker values of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship. She began volunteering even before her children officially started at SSFS—as soon as they received the admission letter! Ivy is the PA Clerk this year (2024-2025); she served as  Auction Committee clerk for the past three years, while actively volunteering at all PA-led events. Ivy says, "Volunteering allows me to actively participate in [my children's] educational experience, stay connected with other families, and contribute to the vibrant culture of SSFS. It’s a way to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact on our school community."
