MLK Jr. Day of Service
Join Us in Service: MLK Jr. Day At SSFS!
Monday, January 16, 2023
RSVP NOW! To join us for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service - January 16, 2023 - meet in person in Westview Dining Hall at 8:30 AM!
Each year, on the third Monday in January, Sandy Spring Friends School joins the nation in service and reflection to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We are planning a speaker and a number of service projects tailored to everyone’s comfort level and varied participation goals – there will be in-person hands-on activities, drop-off activities, and hybrid options. Collection opportunities will run before and after Monday’s Day of Service to provide opportunities for families who are not on-site on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to contribute.
To volunteer or ask questions, please reach out to the MLK Day of Service Co-Clerks, Hilary Phillips and Dara Ballow-Giffen. Sign up to help with set-up, clean-up, or delivery tasks - and note that Upper School students can get service learning hours for their participation throughout the day!
Collection Opportunities: Starting Mon., Jan. 9
