The Ashton Meeting House (built in 1861) was hauled by truck to SSFS’s campus in 1995. Lie! The Meeting House was hauled to campus in 1983.
Hoopa-Doop, Brindledorph, Friedl-Frappe, Nurdleybawl, and Frazzleerham are collectively referred to as the Morley Games, created by founding faculty member Barry Morley. Truth!
SSFS’s campus includes 13 acres of farmland, used as a community-run educational and working farm that supplies the School's kitchen with fresh, organically-grown seasonal produce. Truth!

SSFS's campus sits on 140 acres of farmland, donated by Esther Scott to help make Brook Moore's dream of a Quaker school under the care of the Sandy Spring Friends Meeting a reality. Truth!
The Quaker SPICES are Saffron, Paprika, Italian Herbs, Cumin, Everything Bagel, and Salt. Lie! The SPICES are Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship.
The triangular graphic that forms part of the Sandy Spring Friends School logo is called a truss and can be seen on the roof of the Ashton Meeting House, located on SSFS's campus. Truth!

SSFS's first Community Play in 1996 was A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Lie! The 1996 Community Play was To Kill A Mockingbird.
In 2005, a small group of teachers and parents brought the Empty Bowl Project to Sandy Spring Friends School. The goal of the project is to create lasting social change and raise awareness of hunger in our communities. Truth!
From the first days of preschool to the 12th grade graduation ceremony, the arts are a vital and integral part of our students’ academic experience. Truth!

Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin are all Morley Games named after one of the School’s founding teachers, Barry Morley. Lie! The Morley Games include Hoopa-Doop, Brindledorph, Friedl-Frappe, Nurdleybawl, and Frazzleerham.
The original school colors were red and white. Truth!
Legend says that former history teacher Ari Preuss got a good deal on some Brazilian soccer uniforms when he was coaching SSFS’s soccer team. And since the national colors of Brazil are green and gold, so became the SSFS colors! Truth!
