What is the Ambassadors Program at SSFS?
Ambassadors are a small group of students dedicated to serving as liaisons between the greater Sandy Spring Friends School community and new and prospective students, by providing a welcoming environment. They become cultural bridge-builders, working as a team to help students adjust and integrate into the community, and seeking to strengthen the connection between current students and SSFS alumni.
Participants of the Ambassadors Program have a desire to learn and develop personally while working with a diverse group of students. They have the opportunity to teach others about their countries, cultures, and current events through interactive presentations. Ambassadors are enthusiastic, responsible and committed to the school's mission.
What are the benefits of the program?
The Ambassadors Program offers a rewarding experience for students because it provides training and opportunity where they can build the following skills that are beneficial for college and life beyond:
Improve your ability to make thoughtful decisions, inspire a team, and create a shared vision to reach a goal.
Learn how to meet people, positively interact with others, and make long-lasting connections.
Refine your capability to effectively collaborate with others, to allocate and coordinate resources, and to manage projects.
Raise your confidence level, and enhance your communication skills through group speaking.
Why should you join?
Being an ambassador puts you in one of the best positions on campus for meeting people and for having fun. You become part of a group where it’s easy to build rewarding relationships with other group members, fellow students you can rely on and trust to support you.
