Dear SSFS Faculty & Staff,
Visitation Day November 11, 2020. It was a day we, the SSFS Board of Trustees, did not walk onto the beautiful SSFS campus, we did not start the morning with student presentations in the Library, and we did not visit classrooms or sit with faculty and students in Scott house in the afternoon. What we did experience was that the SSFS community of learning and inquiry was still vibrant and alive. And that is a homage to the hard-work and dedication that the SSFS faculty and staff have put forth during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is a tribute to the preparation that has gone into learning a whole new way of teaching; from kindergartners to high-schoolers. We appreciate the time you have taken to learn new technological skills needed for distance learning, to create presentations to capture a student’s eye, and to be able to recoup when technology suddenly fails. We appreciate the spirit and enthusiasm you bring into the classrooms, working to engage every student, and letting your love of teaching shine through. We appreciate the extra time you spend with the individual students to help them become their best. We appreciate the values of “Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship” that you instill in the community. We acknowledge that this has not been easy, and some days are tougher than others, but you have carried on. The SSFS Board of Trustees is proud of you, the heroes of our school.
Happy Holidays from the SSFS Board of Trustees!
