SSFS Speech Team Shines as WACFL Speech League Metro Co-Champions!

The SSFS Speech Team participated in the Speech Metro Championships on March 1, and ended the 2024-2025 season as Co-Champions of the 85-school WACFL Speech League! SSFS and Our Lady of Good Counsel tied for first place with 192 points each. SSFS students also qualified for the Nationals (to be held over Memorial Day weekend in Chicago, IL) in six events, and seven other students were named as alternates. 

Speech Team captain Chloe J. '25, along with co-Coaches Scott Carneal and Barbara von Salis, presented their trophy to Head of School, Interim Sue Groesbeck, on Thursday, March 6. Sue shared, "What a spectacular year you've had with a talented team, well-coached! Congratulations to the team and coaches!"
