SSFS had a strong fall season of athletics, and we are incredibly proud of our student-athletes, supported by our amazing coaches and energetic community of fans. Now that the fall season has wrapped up, we invite the community to come support our winter teams! See the athletic team schedule web page for dates, times, and locations.

UPPER SCHOOL CROSS-COUNTRY

Varsity Cross Country
The Varsity Cross-Country team had a very strong team effort this season, as members of the team continued to improve their times throughout the season and set personal bests. The men’s and women’s teams finished 3rd in the PVAC conference finals. In addition to seeing students break personal records, we also had a high number of students on the team receive a lot of interest from colleges and universities based on the program's success over the past couple of years!

MIDDLE SCHOOL CROSS-COUNTRY
The MS Cross Country team continued to have runners who excel both on our home course and during away meets. During the meets this season, our runners consistently finished in the top three team spots. To wrap up the season, our boys' team placed 3rd in the PVAC Championship meet, and the MS girls' team placed 1st!

UPPER SCHOOL WOMEN'S VARSITY VOLLEYBALL
Varsity Volleyball had a powerful season filled with impressive plays and lots of teamwork. This team made it all the way to the PVAC quarterfinal, and it is evident that the team faced each game with their all, fighting until the last point. Players highlight the positive atmosphere on the team that created a group that could truly work together. All of their hard work highlights the team’s dedication to collaborating on the court.

UPPER SCHOOL WOMEN'S JV VOLLEYBALL
As the season progressed, the JV Volleyball team continued to raise their level of play. They played very strong matches against tough opponents, especially during the end of the season. Notable highlights for the JV team include beating Field School in a tough quarterfinal matchup to make it to the PVAC semifinals, and the fun spirit the team had throughout the season!

MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL
This season, our girls' volleyball team fought hard and came away with a lot of positives at the end of the season. The girls worked hard throughout the season to gain better skills to help them serve over the net. This year, the coaches also put a strong emphasis on positions and how to cover each position during rallies.

SOCCER

Upper School Men's Soccer 2024

UPPER SCHOOL MEN'S VARSITY SOCCER
The Varsity Men’s soccer team demonstrated tremendous growth throughout the year as the team learned the importance of commitment and teamwork. Over the course of the season, the team grew both on and off the field, as they developed strong communication, gained confidence, and displayed a strong determination. Although this team had an early exit in the PVAC tournament, they definitely made sure to have fun and create a family-like atmosphere.

Upper School Women's Soccer 2024

UPPER SCHOOL WOMEN'S VARSITY SOCCER
The Varsity Women’s Soccer team finished their season with a tough loss in the PVAC quarterfinal matchup against a very tough Don Basco team. The entire team of both returning and new players significantly strengthened their skills over the course of the season and had fun doing so. This team had 3 players make and earn all-PVAC conference team awards.

Middle School Boy's Soccer 2024

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS' SOCCER
The MS boys' soccer team did a great job this year, making it all the way to the PVAC semi-finals, where they lost a tough match in penalty kicks. This season, the soccer team had high numbers, but the boys did a great job sticking together as a team, and they encouraged one another to be the best.

Note: This fall, there was a great deal of interest in the cross-country and volleyball teams, so the MS did not have enough interest to field a girl's soccer team; however, many MS girls did participate in a Soccer Clinic elective to build on their soccer skills.

UPPER SCHOOL INTRAMURAL SPORTS & FITNESS

Upper School Intramurals 2024

Kickball
The intramural kickball team is all about fun, laughter, and friendly competition on the field. Whether you're a seasoned kicker or just looking to have fun, this team had a blast all season. The Kickball team worked hard this fall in creating a playing field with bases and their games always had a good structure and seriousness to them.

Farming for Fitness
Farming for Fitness did a great job this Fall prepping the garden for the upcoming winter season. Throughout the fall, students were able to pick their own bags of vegetables and plant new seeds as well. Teamwork was on full display when certain flower beds needed weeding, and students had fun doing so.

Walking for Fitness
We had a large Walking for Fitness group this fall. This team is a perfect representation of what recreational exercise looks like when you are having fun. Often, you would see this team walk as a big group around campus and they always had a smile on their faces!
