Friends Day Thank You Message from the PA

Dear Sandy Spring Friends School Community,

What a wonderful Friends Day we shared together! Thank you to every student, parent, faculty and staff member, alum, board member, and Friend who came out to celebrate with us. Your presence, enthusiasm, energy, and joyful spirit made the day truly special and reminded us of the strength, warmth, and togetherness at the heart of our school.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our incredible event Co-Clerks, Kate Lawrence and Kerry DeVilbiss, whose dedication, creativity, and steady guidance brought this day to life. We are deeply grateful for the time, care, and love they poured into making Friends Day memorable for all.

We extend our appreciation to Farmer Francis for providing the always-beloved hayride experience that brought smiles to students and adults alike, and to Josh Weinstein for building our wagon and bringing smiles to our faces.

To our Parents Association Executive Committee and Volunteers, thank you for your hands-on support throughout the day. And to our Co-Clerks of Athletics Committee and Co-Clerks of Arts and Awareness committee, your involvement in the planning process and your presence on Friends Day made a meaningful difference—thank you for showing up.

Special thanks to all the bakers who contributed to the bake-off and filled the day with sweet treats, as well as to the student clubs whose support with setup and activities made a big impact—your leadership and teamwork truly shined. Thank you to our basketball players and to our Halftime Event Show Lead, Abby, for bringing excitement to the day, and to our yoga instructor for creating a calming and engaging experience.

We are also grateful for the partnership and support from Facilities, Admissions and Advancement, whose efforts helped ensure the day ran smoothly; to CulinArt, who provided the delicious food at Ralph’s Diner; and to Dr. Sean and the members of the Administrative Council who were able to join us!

To every volunteer, activity leader, performer, and family who participated—you each played an important part in building the sense of community that makes SSFS so unique. Thank you for supporting one another and for helping us continue the tradition of Friends Day in such a meaningful way.
