SSFS had another fantastic sports season, delivering strong performances, team support and growth, community spirit, nail-biting wins in overtime, and good sportsmanship throughout each competition. Despite the smaller numbers of players on some teams, SSFS demonstrated its "small but mighty" ethos, showing grit, resilience, and determination. Head Coach Luis Lopez

The Boys Varsity Basketball team put together a tremendous season, finishing with an impressive 19–9 record and capturing both the regular season and tournament championships in the P.V.A.C. League. Their accomplishments are a direct reflection of the commitment, preparation, and work ethic they demonstrated from the first practice to the final game. Throughout the year, the team continued to grow and improve, embracing challenges and responding with toughness and resilience. They competed with intensity on the defensive end, shared the ball unselfishly on offense, and consistently supported one another in every situation. When league play began, the group elevated its focus and execution, establishing themselves as the standard in the conference. Securing the regular season title highlighted their consistency and discipline over the course of many games. Finishing the job by winning the league tournament championship showcased their composure and determination in high-pressure moments. This team proved that success comes from trust, accountability, and a shared belief in one another. Most importantly, they represented our school with pride, sportsmanship, and class. This season will be remembered not only for the championships, but for the culture of excellence and unity these young men built together.

Varsity Women’s Basketball

Head Coach Haashim Drinkard

This season, the Women’s Varsity Basketball team finished in a very respectable and remarkable 4th place in the PVAC. What makes it remarkable is the fact that we only had 6 players for most of the season. Despite the limited numbers of players, the Lady BEESTS played tough, determined and showed high basketball IQ. This team was very close knit, encouraging one another throughout the season. One of the major highlights of the season is when we won a game in overtime…with only 4 players! Under the leadership of the three seniors, point guard Quinlan Griffith-Polyak, shooting guard Elena Katzin, who scored a career high 41 points on Senior Night, and small forward Alex Johnson, the Lady BEESTS made plenty of noise in the conference, pushing other teams to their limits. With strong contributions from sophomores ,Taylor Cort and Alex Schultz, and the dominant play of junior center Hawa Sow, who scored a career high 29 points against The Field School, the future looks bright.

The one word to describe this group would be resilience. The amount of hurdles and roadblocks (injuries) this team had to go through was unbelievable, but we all kept fighting through. We had 5 core values that we all adhered to: No Fear, Passion, Pride, Aggression, and Heart. Our core focus was to play extremely aggressive defense and push all fast break opportunities and to beat each team mentally. I wanted the team to understand that you have to play together, so each player was assigned a role and as the season went on, every player embraced and exhibited excellence in their specific role. I pushed all of them really hard and set the highest of standards and these boys collectively as a group embraced all of it. All of these things are what carried this team to overcome these challenges and led us to a 5-2 record and clinching a 3rd seed. Unfortunately, we ended up losing in the PVAC semifinals in a nailbiter to St Anselm’s, but the boys fought with intensity and heart. I am so proud of this team and it was truly a blessing to coach these boys and to watch them get better every day.

Varsity Women’s and Men’s Swimming

US Swimming Team 2025-2026

Head Coach Suvia Evans

The swim team wrapped up its season with a highly productive and encouraging final meet, showcasing months of hard work, discipline, and steady improvement. Competing with focus and determination, the team delivered strong performances across multiple events and strokes.
SSFS finished in the top 4 of every event we entered, some events having 2 of our swimmers scoring points. This highlights the team’s depth and versatility. These placements came in a variety of strokes, reflecting the well-rounded training and commitment the athletes have demonstrated throughout the season. From powerful sprint events to technically demanding stroke races, the team rose to the challenge and competed with confidence. As a result, SSFS men placed 4 over all and SSFS women placed 3rd - with only a total of 7 swimmers racing!
Beyond the podium and placements, the meet was marked by personal best times, comradery, and enthusiastic team support on deck. The swimmers’ energy and sportsmanship were evident from start to finish, creating a positive and motivating atmosphere.
Overall, the final meet was a fitting conclusion to a successful season. The team’s top- 4 finishes and collective effort underscore both individual growth and the strength of the program as a whole. Go Beests!

The 2025-2026 season was an exciting and rewarding year for the high school rock climbing team, marked by growth, determination, and strong team spirit. MS Girls BBall 2026

Head Coach Dan Conway

This team literally came together at the last minute and I am so glad it did because we had so much fun practicing, playing, and being together this season. The most exciting game was probably the first one. After falling behind early in the game, we fought back, and a 3-pointer in the 4th quarter by Athena finally put us ahead. A couple more baskets afterward helped us hold on for the win. We earned another early season win, in front of our home crowd, with multiple layups by point guard Ella leading the way. As the season progressed we encountered a number of teams with players who had clearly hit their growth spurts early! Despite the challenges, we always battled with grit and heart, with defensive anchor Kerris never backing down, and Rhodes scoring a career high 8 points in another game. Shout outs to Veronika for being a fearless 3-point shooter, Layla for her tenacious defense, and Naima for always giving up her body diving on the ground for loose balls and taking on occasional point guard responsibilities in her first year. Go Beests!

MS Boys Green Basketball

Head Coach Frank Horton

The boys’ green team faced a challenging season, with several close games that showed their competitiveness even when the outcomes didn’t fall our way. Despite some early setbacks, the group continued to show up, work hard, and support one another throughout the season.
Over time, the team made noticeable strides on the defensive end and improved their shooting and overall understanding of the game. Their effort, resilience, and willingness to learn were evident each week.
With continued dedication, practice, and commitment, this group has a strong foundation to build on. The experience they gained this season positions them well for the future, and we’re excited to see their growth and development in the years ahead.

MS Boys Gold Basketball

MS Boys Gold Bball 2026

Head Coach John Fitzgerald

The players demonstrated confidence in their abilities at the start of the season and consistently worked hard at each practice to develop a wide range of basketball skills. Through dedicated effort and a strong commitment to improvement, each player continued to build confidence in their individual abilities. Although the team participated in only two official games this season, they consistently challenged themselves through structured one-on-one, two-on-two, and three-on-three scrimmages. These internal competitions played an important role in strengthening both individual skill development and overall team cohesion. It is our hope that each player continues to find success and growth as they pursue basketball in the future.
