Dear SSFS Families,

The SSFS 2019-20 academic calendar is now available online. This calendar includes key starting, ending, and holiday dates for the 2019-20 school year. Please note a few important highlights and changes for next year's calendar:

Starting in 2020, graduation for seniors will be held prior to Upper School exam week/the last week of classes. For the 2019-2020 academic year, this means that graduation for the Class of 2020 will be on Saturday, June 6, at 9:00 am.
SSFS Alumni Weekend will be held the following weekend (Sat-Sun, Jun. 13-14). As our newest graduates, the Class of 2020 is warmly invited to attend!
The 9th grade trip (a multi-day camping trip required for all incoming 9th grade students) will take place Tues-Fri, Aug. 27-30.

Other important dates to note:

The dates for "Spring to Success," the Upper School academic Summer Bridge Program required for all new incoming international students, will run from from August 20-25.
The first day of school will be Tuesday, Sept. 3 (the Tuesday after Labor Day).
We will have a Fall Holiday on Monday, Oct. 14.
Similar to this year, there will be no classes during Thanksgiving week (Nov. 25-29). Faculty and staff will participate in Professional Days on Monday and Tuesday of that week.
Winter Break will run from Dec. 23-Jan. 3. Classes resume Jan. 6, 2020.
We will have a Mid-Winter Break from Fri-Mon, Feb. 14-17, following by a Professional Day on Feb. 18, so there will be no classes for students Feb. 14-18, 2020.
MS Immersion Week/US Intersession Week will be March 16-20, followed by Spring Break from March 23-27.

We are providing this information now so that you and your family can plan in advance for the coming year.
