Concord Floral by Jordan Tannahill
The abandoned Concord Floral greenhouse is the secret escape for local teens, but it holds a haunting memory: the ghost of a girl who died there. When two friends lose a cell phone in the greenhouse, it connects them directly to this restless spirit and unleashes a terrifying demand for justice that shatters their suburban refuge. Jordan Tannahill's play is a darkly funny and unsettling ghost story about the secrets that refuse to stay buried.
Note for Audience: Concord Floral was selected for the Upper School because it addresses the experiences, challenges, and moral questions faced by teenagers today. Its themes—peer pressure, social identity, responsibility, and forgiveness—resonate most deeply with high school students who are beginning to explore their own roles within a community. The play’s poetic and contemporary storytelling invites thoughtful reflection and conversation.
Please note that Concord Floral contains imagery and subject matter that may not be suitable for all audiences. Scenes explore mature and emotionally complex themes, including the potentially triggering topics of death, bullying, and peer pressure. Some audience members may find the content upsetting and should use discretion. The production is intended for viewers aged 14 and above and also includes flashing lights and atmospheric effects.
