2021 Community Play
Join us for the 2021 Community Play, "Virtual Vignettes," which will be streamed virtually on February 12 at 7:15 pm! This year's Community Play will feature the talents of our Upper School and Middle School (7th and 8th grade) performing arts students, who will be performing short one-act plays from All in the Timing by David Ives, and All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, based on the books by Robert Fulghum and adapted by Ernest Zulia. Each short play is a world unto itself. The collection of short plays will be at times thoughtful, at times heartwarming, at times laugh-out-loud funny, and always entertaining! Mark your calendars now. More information on how to stream the event will be made available closer to the event.
This year, auditions are open to SSFS Upper School and Middle School (7th and 8th grade) students only. For virtual auditions: please record yourself doing a short 1-minute monologue. Fill out the google form questionnaire and attach your video to the form by November 15. If you need a monologue, look here: https://www.backstage.com/monologues/ (Contemporary monologues recommended)
It is OK if the monologue is not completely memorized, although you should rehearse a few times before filming. We want to accommodate as many actors as possible, but we may not be able to give everyone a role.
Sunday, December 13: Mandatory Cast Meeting. 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Parents/Guardians must come for the first hour of the meeting. Rehearsal Commitment: Rehearsals will be held weekends in January and February. At this point we are planning on having all virtual rehearsals.
