2017 Community Play
We are thrilled to announce that the 2017 SSFS Community Play will be The Skin of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder, Thurs-Sat, Feb. 23-25 at 7:15 pm in the Performing Arts Center (weather make-up date Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2:30 pm). .
The Skin of Our Teeth, winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1943, is a classic of the American theatre. Simultaneously a wild comedy and a thoughtful exploration of social issues, it’s a heartfelt affirmation of the ability of human communities to survive almost any calamity and to keep moving forward. While written during World War II, the play is almost eerily relevant for our times, as the suburban Antrobus family must cope with climate change, a refugee crisis, and a chaotic presidential election– all while caring for their pet dinosaur and trying to go to the movies!
