Upcoming Events & News from Sandy Spring
Our PA Volunteers are hard at work planning the SSFS’s largest fundraising initiative - the Friends Celebration: Supporting Financial Aid. Mark your calendars for Sat. May 3, 2025 - we would love to have a strong alumni presence this year. If you have a business and are interested in sponsorship opportunities or would like to donate to the auction, please contact Savannah Renehan at giving@ssfs.org.
Alumni families (including parents, children, and grandparents of alumni) are all welcome to join us for the Alumni Family Fest on the SSFS campus May 30-June 1 for:
- Westview Dorm Sunset
- Family Strawberry Cowbake
- Special Community Art Project
- Young Alumni Reunion
- Golden Springers Bruch
- and More!
We recently sat down with Sean Hamer to find out what drew him to education (and away from an engineering career), what off-campus hobbies he enjoys pursuing, and what he’s most looking forward to as he relocates from West Coast to East this summer to join the SSFS community.
We're so glad you're here! If you want to get involved in alumni events and activities, please let us know by signing up here to be a part of our newly-formed Alumni Committee! From planning events and sharing updates to fundraising and recruitment opportunities, we would love for you to be a part of the SSFS Alumni Committee. Questions? Please contact Ciara via email at hueybci@ssfs.org, or make an appointment to meet her in her office in Moore Hall.
We are excited to announce the 2025 Community Play, Twelfth Night. It will be a collaboration between the Upper School Musical Class and the SSFS community. In keeping with the way this adaptation of Twelfth Night was developed through The Public Theatre’s Public Works project, the principal roles in the play will be cast within the class. The larger community will help us create the world of Illyria. This production is appropriate for all ages and we are looking for a diverse group of actors to help us created a chorus of sailors, officers, shopkeepers, citizens and more! Auditions will take place in February; more to come, soon! Watch this space..
