Sandy Spring Friends School

Spring 2021

Welcome, Spring!

Here on campus, we have officially begun the sprint to the end of the year—and we are already starting to think about next year! Over the next several weeks students and teachers will wrap up their classes, the seniors of the Class of 2021 will become our newest alumni, and SSFS's campus will be prepped for summer camp—all signs of a much-appreciated return to some level of normalcy, even as we continue to observe the protocols that have kept us safe for the past year.

We hope you will join us for some special virtual events this spring: The "Amplifying the Light" Auction for Financial Aid on May 15, our next Author Talk on May 20, and Alumni Weekend on June 11-13. (Details about all these events are posted in the Virtual Events section below.)

Please do continue to share updates with us (send in notes HERE!) and watch your inboxes for more ways to connect virtually this spring and summer. And if you haven't already, please consider making a gift to support financial aid at SSFS. This year more than ever, your generosity truly makes a difference!

As we approach the end of school year 2020-21 and begin planning for next year—with a special focus on how we will be celebrating Sandy Spring Friends School's 60th anniversary—we are particularly grateful to share this community with YOU!

Farewell, Cathy Harrison!

It is with a deep sense of gratitude for not only the length but also the depth and breadth of her contributions to SSFS, and in recognition of her service, that we share with you that after 27 years of service to Sandy Spring Friends School, Cathy Harrison will retire from the classroom at the end of the 2020-21 academic year.
