Transportation & Extended Care
Transportation
Sandy Spring Friends School is proud to serve students who hail from all over the DMV area, as well as around the world (thanks to our boarding program). For the convenience of our families, SSFS offers optional bus transportation between our campus and various group stops throughout Montgomery, Howard, and Prince George’s counties, as well as Washington, DC. Please note that the routes are determined by student needs each year and are subject to change. For the safety of our youngest learners, bus transportation is available for students in Kindergarten through 12th Grade.
Buses are scheduled to arrive at SSFS at or before 7:45 a.m. Depending on the route, the first morning pick-up occurs between 6:50 and 7:00 a.m.
In addition, the School offers the 5:45 Shuttle, a free, daily bus service to two metro stations for middle and upper school students participating in athletics and other after-school activities. This bus departs from the Middle School circle (on campus) at 5:45 PM to take students to the Glenmont and Shady Grove metro stations.

Visit KAH’s online fee calculator to determine the rate for your family’s desired number of days per week; a drop-in, pay-as-you-go arrangement is also an option!
