Rental Spaces on the SSFS Campus

The Athletic Complex at Sandy Spring Friends School is the newest building on campus, completed in 2005.

Athletic Complex:

• 9,000 square foot gymnasium
• Full basketball court with 2 full-size side courts
• Climbing wall
• Athletic training room
• Fitness center with cardio equipment and free weights
• Multipurpose classroom/boardroom with projector
• Bleachers with 300 person capacity when fully extended (can be retracted for more floor space)
• Central air conditioning and heat

In addition, there is a Yarnall Gym with slightly different features:

• Full basketball court with two short sided courts
• Rubberized floor which is used for indoor soccer, baseball, and softball
• Drop down baseball/softball batting cage
• Bleachers with 150 person capacity when fully extended (can be retracted for more floor space)

Sandy Spring Friends School has a high-tech and spacious Performing Arts Center in addition to Clifton Auditorium.

The Performing Arts Center features:

• Sunken auditorium with an orchestra pit
• 385 fixed seats with space for additional seating
• State of the art sound and lighting boards
• Sound and lighting booth with projector, overlooking the theater
• Ballet studio with dance floor, mirrored wall, and PA system
• Studio with projector screen, grand piano, and PA System
• 5 individual practice rooms
• Two full dressing rooms with mirrors and attached bathrooms

Clifton Auditorium includes:

• Bleacher style seating with 150 per capacity
• Basic sound and lighting with PA system
• Lighting booth with projector

Sandy Spring Friends School features a 140 acre campus with a wide range of possibilities including, but not limited to:

• Full low ropes course
• Three campsites
• 2-3 full size soccer/lacrosse fields
• Full size baseball field with batting cage and dual bullpen
• Full softball field with grass infield
• Playground and adjoining field
• Scenic cross country route

Middle School (built in 2005):

• Large collection space/lobby with projector
• 3 classrooms per wing with desks and white board
• 4 wings, 12 classrooms
• Conference room

Westview Classrooms:

• 4 classrooms along hallway
• 4 rooms are side-by-side

There are 3 different campsites available.

All campsites feature a large fire-ring and 2 picnic tables.
The site is stocked with fire-wood and water (2 five gallon water jugs) before your arrival.
All sites are a short hike from the port-a-johns and parking lot area.

Eagle Landing

This large site offers great views of the stars, and is a favorite place for bird-watching! Site can easily accommodate up to 20 tents.

Bandit Hide-A-Way

This huge site is nestled deeper in the woods, and can easily accommodate 15-20 tents.

Poplar Den

This is a smaller site which can accommodate up to 10 tents. You’ll wake up to the morning calls of blue birds, chick-a-dees, and the industrious red-headed woodpecker, which nest in the area.

Climbing Wall:

• 50 foot climbing wall with beginner to advanced climbs
• Climbing equipment included
• Climbing instructor included
• No experience necessary

Swim Pond:

• Aquabounce (water trampoline)
• Iceberg climbing wall
• Sand beach
• Lifeguards included

Playground:

• Playground integrated into landscape
• Gaga pit
• Sand and mini climbing wall
• Large field for games

Art Barn:

• Arts and craft activities in party room

Movie Theater:

• Movies available on projector with theater sound system (PAC and Clifton)

Adventure Park:

• Bonfires
• Camping
• High ropes course
