Welcome to the International Student Program!

This year the SSFS ISP is comprised of 41 international students from 9 different countries (Bhutan, China, Ethiopia, India, Iraq, Korea, Sierra Leone, Taiwan, and Vietnam). Our year began as always with the new international student orientation the week of August 18th (click here to see photos). Boarding students returned to the dorm the weekend of August 30th. Finally, the 2008-2009 school year began in earnest on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Thanks to the help of our friend and colleague, Margaret Rosser, the ISP website has been reworked! We hope that you will enjoy the new layout and find the site easy to navigate and full of useful information. We will be updating it monthly. Please contact Paummi if you have any suggestions for the site. Our goal is that this be a good communication tool between families and life in the International Student Program at Sandy Spring Friends School.

• LOOKING FOR WAYS TO GET INVOLVED WITH THE ISP? We are often in need of host families for the international students during long weekends or shorter vacation times like Thanksgiving. • Guardians and host families: Be sure to check in with your student about what sports they are playing. Check out the athletic schedule (click here to link to the athletic schedule) and plan to come to see some of their games!
