Volunteers for Peace (VFP)
For the adventurous student who wants an independent, rustic and unique experience, this workcamp structure offers an affordable way to travel, live and work in a foreign country at a very minimal cost. Started 50 years ago after the world wars as a program of reconciliation and peace between countries,
VFP coordinates European workcamps for teens from around the world.

United States
Landmark Volunteers
This agency offers service programs in interesting spots all over the nation. Experiences such as building trails in Glacier National Park or protecting ancient ruins in New Mexico give students a unique view of our own country.
Student Conservation Association (SCA)
Students spend a month restoring parks and forests (in conjunction with the National Park Service), living in the wilderness with a small group of teens. Tuition-free and open to students aged 15-19, teens learn about environmental stewardship while living in some of the most beautiful settings in our country (including Alaska and Hawaii).
