All of our staff undergo a FBI and Maryland background check. About one third of our staff have ties to the Sandy Spring community as teachers, students, and coaches. Many of our staff have been working at our camp for years.
What do I need to bring to camp?
![]()
We recommend you bring a water bottle to camp. Also, please wear clothes that can get dirty and are comfortable to play in. Please label everything so if lost we can return it to you. If a specific camp requires gear of some sort, a letter will be sent home well in advance describing the needs.
My child has a serious health allergy. How can I ensure their safety?
![]()
We are great with food and other allergies. We recommend that you contact the camp office before camp begins to set up an appointment to speak with our nurse. During this time, we will develop a plan of action to ensure your child’s safety. We are very flexible and accommodating with health concerns.
Are all of your campers Sandy Spring Students?
![]()
No. Only about fifteen percent of our campers are Sandy Spring Students. The vast majority come from outside the school. About one third of our campers come from the Olney and Sandy Spring area. The rest come from a wide range of areas in Montgomery, Howard, PG County and Washington DC.
