About SFDC

Welcome to Summer Friends Day Camps

We are located on a 140-acre, wooded campus at Sandy Spring Friends School (SSFS). Summer Friends Day Camps (SFDC) are known for its variety of programs offered, expansive facilities and knowledgeable, nurturing staff. SFDC emphasizes Quaker values such as honesty, simplicity, nonviolence and stewardship. We aim to provide your camper with interesting, fun camps, where they can learn new skills, expand their creativity and meet new friends.

SFDC does not discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, disability, national or ethnic origin in admissions or in our employment policies.

Facilities

Campers will use SSFS's performing arts center, two athletic complexes, art barn, science laboratories, computer labs, challenge course, playing fields, playground, nature trails and classrooms.

Staff

Each summer SFDC employs about 100 staff. About one third of the staff have ties to SSFS as teachers, parents, coaches, alumni or students. The staff are carefully-selected, mature individuals who care greatly about children. Most counselors are college-aged or older. All SFDC staff undergo background checks prior to employment.
