The Middle School has a learning specialist and a counselor. Both provide short-term, solution-oriented focus on their work with the students. The learning specialist and counselor work with the parents, students and teachers in a team approach to enhance the learning experience. It is our goal to provide an educational environment benefiting the whole child.

The job of the learning specialist includes classroom observations, informal screenings, formal testing, curriculum development, interpretation of psycho-educational testing and coordination of tutors. The counselor provides classroom observations, consultation with teachers, education for parents, coordination of therapeutic supports, interpretation of psychological testing, and support to individual students and to groups addressing issues such as divorce, grief, stress and friendship.
