Learning About the Lunar New Year

Third grade classes celebrated the Lunar New Year in mid-February. The children enjoyed a wonderful feast of Chinese food provided by the parents and participated in a dragon dance. Sheng-Li, a Chinese student from Gallaudet University, shared about his life back in China and about the New Year festivities. Then he showed us Chinese Sign Language which was compared to the American Sign Language, used by third grade's student teacher Marlon Wynne.
