First Grade Events

Photos 1-14: In First Grade we celebrate Marvelous Me. This is a time when families come to share about their cultural heritage. One of our students shared an El Salvadorian tradition with us by bringing a dancer who performed a folk dance in authentic costume.

Photos 15-30: Diwali, the Indian celebration of light, was celebrated in 1B. After hearing about the history and customs of the festival the children decorated their own paper flags that are customarily flown during Diwali.

Photos 31-52: In November, the First Grade spent some time at Friends House making crafts to sell at Winterfest. This was a wonderful time for the young and old a like. The children were able to learn about what it was like to be in first grade many years ago and the members of Friends House learned about our school days now.
