As we begin the 2017-18 academic year, I want to let you know about an opportunity for Upper School students to become staff for the climbing wall. Our student training will be from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, at the Climbing Wall in the Athletic Center. Students will have the ability to become Wall Staff; this means that students will be able to work as belayers on the climbing wall for events like the Halloween Festival or Middle School climbing. Students will also be given opportunities to work for pay if an outside group needs belayers.

This year, training will have an additional perk: students that have gone through our training, even if they do not work the wall, will have access to our Outdoor Prolink Pro-Deal.

During the Sept. 23 training, faculty will be training students on belaying, putting on harness, belay escapes, and wall safety. If a student hopes to be part of the climbing wall staff, it is required that they do the training.
