
Upper School Admissions
How to Apply
We are pleased that you are considering a Sandy Spring Friends School education.
There are two ways to apply for admission to our Upper School:
Application Form
To begin the application process, your completed Application for Admission form and $75 application fee should be submitted to our Admissions Office as soon as possible. Applications are being processed on a rolling admissions basis until grade levels are full.
The remaining requirements of the process should be completed as soon as possible:
Day Visit and Interviews
Please call the Admissions Office to schedule the parent and student interviews. A full day visit with the opportunity attend classes with a student host is also offered on the same day as the interviews. Lunch is provided. For Upper School students applying to grades 9 – 12 who are applying to the Residential Program (either 5 or 7-Day Boarding), we offer overnight visits along with day visits.
Testing
Applicants entering 6th through 12th grades are required to take either the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) or the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). The SSAT or ISEE requirement may be waived if the applicant has had a WISC-IV done within the previous year.
Registration for the SSAT is online at www.ssat.org. The SSAT school code number for Sandy Spring Friends School is 7090.
Registration for the ISEE is at www.iseetest.org. The ISEE school code number for Sandy Spring Friends School is 210937.
