You're Enrolled! Now what?

We're very excited that your family will be a part of the SSFS community in 2017-18! Please click on the items below to see links to provide families with information about the upcoming school year.

Lower School Family Information

Throughout the spring and into the summer, your family will receive information from your child's division with information about class placement, book ordering, orientation activities, and more. Please bookmark your division's "Back to School Info" page (link below), as this is your one-stop source for the most up-to-date information to ensure a smooth transition in the fall.

Thursday, April 27: An Evening of Fun at the Adventure Park, 5:00-8:00 pm at the Adventure Park at Sandy Spring, 16701 Norwood Rd., Sandy Spring, MD 20860

This free event is for students new to the school and their family members. (A Paperless Post invitation was sent to all new families on April 10; please RSVP via the invitation by Friday, April 21!) Enjoy an evening of climbing and meeting with members of the SSFS community. A light dinner and refreshments will be served. Families must arrive between 5:00-6:30 pm if they would like to climb; climbers between the ages of 5-18 must be accompanied by an adult. Climbers should dress comfortably, and close-toed shoes are required for climbing. An online climbing waiver will be sent to families when they RSVP via the Paperless Post invitation. There will also be activities available for kids under 5. Hope to see you there!

Monday, May 15: Coffee & Conversation with Brenda Crawley, LS Head

Join us from 8:30-9:30 am in Scott House for a discussion about the SSFS end-of-year celebrations and preparations for the transition into 2017-2018.

Sunday, June 4: Lower School Family Fun Day, 1:00-3:00 pm

All new and returning Lower School families are invited for an afternoon of fun! Come and meet other SSFS community members. Enjoy a moon bounce, Rita’s Italian ice and plenty of snacks. (Rain or shine!)

Middle School Family Information

Tuesday, June 13: Middle School Meet & Greet, 3:30-4:30 pm

All new and returning Middle School families are invited to come to the Middle School at 3:30 pm for games, fun, snacks, and chance to get to know each other.

Wednesday, July 25: Middle School Pond Night, 5:00-7:00 pm

Join MS families from 5:00-7:00 pm at the pond behind Scott House for an informal get-together with swimming and socializing before the school year begins.

Upper School Family Information

May 16: 9th Grade Family Orientation

Incoming 9th grade students and their parents/guardians are invited for an opportunity to meet with the 9th grade team and find out more about the 9th grade camping trip in August, the start of school, the advisory program, class activities, community service, Intersession, and more. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 16 at 7:15 pm in Studio B of the Performing Arts Center.
