Upper School Spanish Teacher - Part Time for 2008-2009

The Upper School French and Spanish Department seeks a part-time teacher of Spanish Language for students in grades 9 through 12. This position is likely to include two sections of Level I and/or Level II Spanish.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Spanish language and culture, as well as at least three years' experience teaching at the high school level in a proficiency-based curriculum. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Spanish or a closely related field is required. A graduate degree is desirable but not required. Experience living and working abroad, and/or native speaker preferred. SSFS seeks candidates who value the importance of issues of diversity and can both share and teach differing points of view. Knowledge of Windows applications, such as word processing, email, and accessing www resources, is required. Familiarity with Quaker education is helpful but not required.
