Director of Technology

Sandy Spring Friends School is seeking a creative, energetic professional to oversee academic and administrative computing for the institution. Responsibilities for the Director of Technology include: Supervise technology staff; Administer technology policies/procedures through all divisions/departments; Develop purchasing and budgetary plans for all divisions/departments; Administer system applications; Supervise data backup, archival and retrieval processes; Provide user and technical support to Administrative staff; Provide oversight for technology infrastructure configuration and installation; Provide leadership and guidance related to innovative technologies for the classroom, as well as for the administrative function.

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:

• Experience with Mac OS, Windows XP
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite of applications
• Experience with Oracle and SQL databases
• Experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting networks + vlans
• Knowledge of Linux
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Experience in pre-college educational technology
• Minimum qualification - Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree

Additional consideration will be given to candidates possessing an advanced degree or equivalent experience in educational technology or a related field. Knowledge/experience with FirstClass, Senior Systems or Educator applications considered a plus.
